Is this difficult to install?

The installation process is DIY-friendly, making it accessible for most homeowners and DIYers. It is possible to do with little-to-no DIY experience.

How does the tensioner system work?

The cable is cut to length, and a lobed washer and crimp sleeve are attached to it. Once the sleeve is crimped, it holds the washer in place. The assembled cable, washer, and crimp sleeve are inserted into the tensioner (Bullet), a set screw advances the washer, creating tension in the cable.

Do I need to buy crimp sleeves separately?

No, crimp sleeves are included with the tensioner kit, so there’s no need to purchase them separately. However, it is a good practice to include a Spare Parts Bundle in your order just in case you lose, or damage one of the sleeves. This kit also includes additional spare lobed washers and set screws.

What size cable can I use these with?

Tensioners are compatible with 5/32” cable.

Is anodized aluminum a coating?

Level III anodizing, or Type III hardcoat anodizing, is a process that creates a thick, highly wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant oxide layer on aluminum. Use a Neutral Cleaner: Use mild dish soap or detergent with a pH between 6 and 8. Avoid acidic or alkaline cleaners, as they can damage the anodized coating.
